Biography of Sheikh Ali Jaber and Family – Sheikh Ali Jaber is a well-known Arabic scholar and preacher in Indonesia. The Islamic teachings he conveyed in every lecture were widely accepted by various circles of society.
He has the full name Ali Saleh Muhammad. He born in the city of Madinah Al-Munawarah, Saudi Arabia, on February 3, 1976 AD or on the 3rd of Shafar 1396 H.
In education, young Sheikh Ali Jaber completed both formal and informal education in Medina. He graduated from the primary school level in 1989 AD. Then he graduated from junior high school in 1992, then finished senior high school in 1995.
As reported by the official website of the Sheikh Ali Jaber Foundation, since the age of 13, a teenager Ali Jaber had memorized the Qur’an and received the mandate to become an Imam in several Medina mosques. This belief was obtained because since childhood he had studied the knowledge of the Qur’an. This also cannot be separated from the direct educational role of his father.
Since then he started his preaching by teaching the verses of Allah SWT in mosques. While in Medina, Sheikh Ali was also active as a teacher to memorize the Qur’an at the Nabawi Mosque. In fact, being the Grand Imam of prayer at one of the mosques in the city of Medina.
Ali Jaber is the first of twelve children. In his youth, at first he felt he was required to continue his father’s struggles, especially in the Islamic religion.
Although initially what he was going through was his father’s wish, but after a while he began to realize that it was his own need as a future scholar.
In the process of studying religion, Sheikh Ali Jaber studied this knowledge from several prominent scholars in the city of Medina and outside Medina. The teachers included Sheikh Muhammad Ramadhan (Chairperson of the Tahfidz Council of the Nabawi Mosque), Sheikh Said Adam (Chairperson of the Prophet’s Tomb Management), and Sheikh Abdurrahman Kholil (Ulama Expert Al-Qur’an in Medina).
In 2008, Sheikh Ali Jaber came to Indonesia for the first time. Not long ago, his preaching received a good response from the community, especially Muslims. Because of that, he was then invited to various places to preach, from urban areas to remote areas.
For his work in preaching in Indonesia in particular, Sheikh Ali Jaber received an award from the President of the Republic of Indonesia in 2011 in the form of the award of honor to become an Indonesian citizen (WNI).
After becoming an Indonesian citizen, Sheikh Ali Jaber then married a native Indonesian girl too. His wife’s name is Umi Nadia who comes from Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB). Sheikh Ali Jaber and his wife have two children named Hasan and Fahad.
Besides being very active in spreading Islam from one place to another, Sheikh Ali is also active in preaching on social media, especially Instagram and Youtube with the account name “Syekh Ali Jaber”. In addition, he regularly performs da’wah programs on national television, such as Damai Indonesiaku TV ONE, Juri Hafiz RCTI, Kultum Ramadhan RCTI, The Journey Backpacker Trans7, Cahaya Hati iNewsTV.
After receiving treatment in a hospital for several days, Sheikh Ali Jaber breathed his last on Thursday, January 14, 2021, or at the age of 44 years.
